April 6, 2020: I’m still alive, seventy one years and counting. I've learned, life is like feeling your way threw the dark, you never know when you may walk off a cliff or trip over a chair. So, shine a little light in your life to help you avoid surprises.
Painting and drawing is something I
do for the love of it, and that about sums me up.
I moved from Blackstone, Massachusetts and now live and work in Gloucester Virginia.
The best teacher I ever had was the guy I see in the mirror, I'm a different kind of artist, I show all my work, just as it comes out, the good, the bad and the ugly.
I studied art on my own, two of my mentors are, John Singer Sargent and John Singleton Copley. Copley, was born in Boston, Massachusetts July 3, 1738. Most famous for Portraiture he was self-taught. Learning that encouraged me to work on my own.
My preferences are portrait painting, still life and landscapes, though I enjoyed working with many other subjects and mediums. Oil paint is my preferred medium, but I also enjoy working with watercolor, charcoal, graphite, pen and ink and pastels.
